Welcome to our website. The placeholder copy here said it needed to be an intro paragraph. So, hello, how do you do? We are Father Coffee. We're a specialty coffee roastery in Johannesburg, South Africa. We seek out coffees that are exemplars of provenance, varietal, and processing and then we roast them. Our roastery releases around 60 or so each year and you can enjoy them as very good cups of coffee in our cafés, at our wholesale partners, or in your own home. We also like other things to be good, so we also have a bakery, a wine bar, some wine shops, and other things. You can learn a little more about them and us below and by just finding your way around this site. Consider yourself introduced. 🎤

    Spacious, delightful, but this location gets busy. Please share tables and power points during rush periods.

    Our lovely glass lab is available for hire from R500/hour (70" screen and sound available at an additional cost). Seats 8pax comfortably or 12pax uncomfortably. No offsite food or drink permitted. Email to make a booking.

    Large working groups may be asked to relocate to the lab on busy days. We reserve the right to charge a chair rate for wifi hustlers.

    ​Notes: 
    The high-rises of Rosebank get to us too and if we had to work in them, we might also resort to sitting in a dreamy cafe with a rotating selection of specialty-grade microlot coffees. While our cafe is a great space to work, it is also primarily a great place for coffee, so we ask that you please treat our space fairly. Seating is limited. We reserve the right to charge a chair rate for wifi freeloaders. 

    ​This store finally serves alcohol! From Wednesday through to Sunday enjoy a weekly selection of natty wines by-the-glass (or bottle) and cocktails alongside bar plates to pair to your pours. The cuter-sized Winebar also offers a selection of some of SA's best natural and low-intervention wines available to take home.
